Mandela Day Blanket Drive
17 July 2016
EXTREME open water and ice swimmer Ryan Stramrood, partnering with Snow World Grand West, Fair Cape Dairies and Little Fighters Cancer Trust, hosted a blanket drive for International Nelson Mandela Day.
The drive kicked off exactly 46664 seconds before International Nelson Mandela Day began today with a motivational talk from Stramrood.
Stramrood said he became involved because he hoped to raise awareness and support for young cancer patients.
“Cancer is very close to my heart and important to me as my mother passed away from the disease.
“I also have a child and I wanted to give back and raise awareness for these children suffering from cancer,” said Stramrood.
Some of our Little Fighters had a ball playing in the snow and building snowmen.
A huge thank you Fair Cape Dairies for you continues support and Svenmill fabrics for your donation of blankets and fabrics.
Thank you Snow World and Grand West for making this event possible and a huge thank you to Ryan Stramrood for believing in Little Fighters Cancer Trust.
Massive thank you to our supporters for your support and contribution on Mandela Day.
